New Email Changes: Saturday May 15th, 2010
The server upgrade to a new hosting and control panel platform requires two minor changes to your email application settings.
These changes are designed to improve the performance and speed of your email. The following changes must be done ONLY ON OR AFTER MAY 15th. An email notification sent on the 15th will let you know when the changes should be made.
To begin in Windows Mail, select the top pulldown tab "TOOLS", and within that, select "ACCOUNTS". Find the relevant email account(s) associated with your web site
and select "PROPERTIES":

1. Under "E-mail username" enter your FULL address (the old system required only the mailbox name).
2. Check "My server requires authentication"

Mac Mail Users:
Open mail > Preferences > Accounts and click on the account(s) to modify. You'll need to make the same 2 changes: for username you need to use the entire email address, then click Server Settings:

and for outgoing email you need to select "Authentication: Password" and again make sure to use the full email address with domain name for username, then click "ok."

If you have questions or if your email application looks different from these examples please open a ticket at http://support.oneworldhosting.com. You can also review
this page, "How do I enable SMTP server authentication" for procedures for other tools. |
